'State of Play' joins long list of newspaper movies
"The Mean Season" (1985): Kurt Russell plays Malcolm Anderson, a Miami reporter who gets a call from the murderer whom he wrote about in his latest article. The phone calls and murders continue, and soon Malcolm realizes that he is the story. MEMORABLE LINE (and not in a good way): "I've gotten so far away that leaving is just a formality, Malcolm."
