Postcards from grand Grant Park
Fort Walker still stands at the highest point in Grant Park and is named after General William H.T. Walker, who was killed in the Battle of Atlanta on July 22, 1864. Though never assaulted, Fort Walker was an important element in the city's fortifications, which were designed by L.P. Grant himself. (Postmarked Oct. 11, 1910)
