AJC Staff Photos of the Year, 2011-- Curtis Compton
It was rather ironic after chasing tornados north of Atlanta all night, I actually ran into one a few miles from my house near Newborn at 1:30 A.M. Hearing the tornado warning on WSB radio I took that route home hoping to provide some early storm coverage for AJC online. I locked up my brakes when trees dropped in the road just in front of my car. After transmitting, I spent the next 4 hours trying to navigate home.
