Griffin-- Jack St Genis gets a lick on the nose from his 6-month old shihtzu puppy "Suzie" at his Griffin home on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. Genis has a mild cognitive impairment and got a puppy to help him with his emotions. I wasn't sure the image was going to be usable when the moment happened in front of a heavily backlit window. The way the dog's tongue stands out helps pull it off. I thought it worked well in black in white. Curtis Compton ccompton@ajc.com
