Star trails streak through the sky as Dan Llewellyn, 46, of Decatur, lines up his 20-inch Star Master telescope to photograph Mars and Saturn at the Deerlick Astronomy Village in Sharon on Friday, March 19. The star trails in the sky are created by the movement of the earth during a 5-hour time exposure that took 3 attempts to achieve. I started the exposure around 1 a.m and ended it when the sky on the horizon began to lighten. A red gel over a flash was used to light the subject. Curtis Compton ccompton@ajc.com
