PINETOP PERKINS (July 7, 1913-March 21, 2011) was a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award-winning blues musician from Belzoni, Miss. The Delta bluesman, whose given name was Joseph William Perkins, played with some of the most influential musicians in American history. He died at the age of 97 at his home in Austin, Texas. AP
