Walter Cronkite: Nov. 4, 1916 - July 17: Known as the 'most trusted man in America', Cronkite was the TV anchorman of CBS Evening News for 19 years, an era when network news was central to many American's lives. World War II. Vietnam War. John F. Kennedy's assassination. Watergate. Iran Hostage Crisis. Missions to space. The Beatles first U.S. broadcast. He reported them all.
